From ASMR to Viral Success: How Bio-Oil’s TikTok Strategy Drove Millions of Views

The challenge

We worked with Bio-Oil to launch their brand-new Bio-Oil Body Lotion in Australia, the country’s first shake-to-activate daily moisturiser, with the highest oil content on the market (42% oil). This was our opportunity to drive awareness of this new product and differentiate from water-based body lotions.

The solution

Get skincare loving Aussies who want to feel good in their skin yet feel their current skincare is lacking, to trial the new Bio-Oil Body Lotion by showing them the value of skin loving oil.

To stay top of mind, we activated a TikTok TopView buyout, a 24-hour ad buyout that is the FIRST piece of video content users see when they open the app. How did we shake it up? Trending ASMR audio, TikTok’s special ‘shake surprise’, and featuring body positivity influencer, Lucy Neville was used to develop a TikTok first video that so many people engaged with and clicked on that we broke the internet by crashing the Bio-Oil website.
