Red Agency expands health and wellness credentials with Bio-Oil win

by William Turner in News

The world’s most recommended and highest selling scar and stretch mark product, Bio-Oil, has hired Australia’s leading PR, social and experiential agency, Red Agency, as its locally retained communications partner.

Red Agency was awarded the account following a competitive pitch and expands Red Agency’s current work with parent company, Aspen, with projects and retainer agreements currently spanning the company’s Gastro-Stop and S-26/Alula brands.

Bio-Oil has established a loyal fanbase across Australia and is known and loved for its simple efficacy. With exceptional clinical results, but comparatively low user compliance with recommended application, in 2018, Bio-Oil’s marketing strategy will focus on continuing to encourage all users to embrace the ‘twice-daily’ recommended use guidelines, in order to provide even greater results.

As the brand moves into an exciting new phase, with several announcements coming early in 2018, Red Agency has been tasked with leading and executing Bio-Oil’s integrated communications strategy, driving impactful media relations, collaborating with local agencies to maximise influencer engagement and engaging stakeholders including healthcare professionals, retailers and partner organisations.

Aspen Australia’s Marketing Manager, Consumer OTC, Michelle Quinn, said: “Red Agency immediately stood out for their insightful strategic approach, inspiring ideas and brand vision and absolute cohesion between their PR and social specialists. 2018 will be one of the biggest years yet for the Bio-Oil brand so I’m thrilled to be entering it with such a strong communications partner.”

Red Agency Consumer Practice Head, Adam Freedman said: “Health and wellbeing is an increasingly important focus for many Australians and it’s exciting to be awarded the opportunity to work with a leading brand like Bio-Oil to support their marketing activity. While Bio-Oil is already used by many Aussies every day, we’re looking forward to partnering with them to build the brand further in the coming months and bringing its story to life.

“We have a number of dynamic brands in our stable and 2018 is shaping up as an exciting year where we will have great opportunities to push ourselves even further, creatively and strategically.”

Red Agency officially commenced work with Bio-Oil on 1 January 2018.
