Global renewable energy organisation, Neoen has hired leading PR, social and experiential agency, Red Agency as its retained communications partner in Australia.
Red Agency was initially appointed on a project basis to manage Neoen’s partnership with Tesla and the South Australian government on the world’s largest lithium-ion battery storage project in the world at its Hornsdale Power Reserve in South Australia. This successful launch, which garnered significant global interest, has led to the retained appointment.
Since entering the country in 2012, Neoen has already invested more than $1 billion into renewable projects in Australia, including the Hornsdale Power Reserve where recent initiatives are set to make it the first of its kind in the country, and the Hornsdale Wind farm, powering more than a quarter of a million homes in the ACT. Neoen has ambitious goals for Australian renewable energy, with plans to build more than 1000MW of renewable energy projects in Australia by 2020.
As the company continues to invest in new projects around the country, Red Agency has been tasked with overseeing Neoen’s communications strategy, working with stakeholders including state Governments, local community groups, development and construction companies as well as finance and technology businesses.
Neoen Managing Director, Franck Woitiez said: “Red Agency really understood our business and the work we are doing with our many stakeholders around the country to deliver renewable energy alternatives to communities around the country. We needed a partner who would be able to help us develop a communications strategy for our current initiatives while also supporting our long-term goals to increase the availability and understanding of wind, solar and storage in this country.”
Red Agency CEO, James Wright said: “Neoen is leading the way in renewables, through partnerships with the South Australian, Victorian and NSW Governments as well as key private sector businesses including Tesla. We are proud to partner with Neoen to manage their communications for projects around the country and continue to drive the important conversation around renewables in this country.”
Red Agency will support Neoen’s existing renewable projects as well as future initiatives. It will be charged with communicating key milestones as well Neoen’s partnerships and investments in the country to Australian and international audiences.
